Um, no. Giving up an entire year to learn a dance move that I could learn in a couple months, if I even wanted to, doesn't make much sense.

Thats not what he means. He means will you cut your life short one year of the time you are suppose to die to be able to moonwalk without any practice.

Yes, and I said I could achieve the same results without giving up a year of my life in a relatively short amount of time.

By you pretty much said "why would I waste a year to learn it" and thats not what he meant. He meant you lose a year, without having to learn it. All of a sudden you can just do it...

Ah, I see that now, I think. I meant "give up" in that I'd be losing a year of my life, not that it'd take a year to learn it. Sorry for the confusion.

Dancing isn't exactly my forte, so I'm alright with keeping a year on my life.

I might give up a year for the ability to dance in general, not for just the moonwalk.

No, I figure that if I tried hard enough I could learn how to perfectly moonwalk within a year's time.

Of course not, 10 minutes of practice a day for a month or two would achieve the same results.

 Whythe hell would anyone give up one year of life to learn a skill that takes no more than 10-20 hours of practice to perfect? And that's probably for the less coordinated individuals. Moonwalking is not that hard.

Imagine the irony if you found out you only had 366 days to live after saying yes.

And no I would not because I don't think blacksliding is amazing by any stretch of the imagination...

I clicked this not sure whether it's about the dance move or about actually walking on the moon. For the latter, I'm not sure, but for the former, no way. I value my life, and there's way more to life than being able to dance, let alone being able to do as specific a move as the moonwalk.
