I'd rather be rich.
I could discover myself and then use the money to do things to become famous.

Wait, so if I'm rich that automatically means I don't appreciate things? Ummm...:?

When you are rich, you appreciate money. :P
I do not want to be famous unless it is within the academic community, and I will definitely go with rich.
So what's a better use? Being poor?:o[QUOTE="NaiveChild"]
Neither, both are a waste of life.

Honestly, yes, supposing you're okay with it. Being happy and poor is infinitely better than being happy and rich.

Why?Why?

Well, usually, anyway. :P
If you have a lot, it's easy to depend on it all to make you happy ... But, eventually, all those material things are going to fade away as you age/die, and so will your happiness. If you can manage to be happy without a ton of external crap, it's probably a kind of happiness that is deeper and longer-lasting, and that time or misfortune can't take away from you. Or something like that.
Let's be honest - they usually go hand in hand. It would be hard to be rich without being relatively famous, and famous people usually end up rich one way or another.
