I've lived in a small city all my life, so I would much rather live in a big city when I have my own career. I've visited New York City, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles, all of which are big, exciting cities, and these visits have compelled me to live in such a city when I get older. Preferably NYC :)

I like the simple life of a small town. I've been to several cities, but I never really had any desire to live in one.

Small town works for me. I can go out at 2AM and there isn't a single person on the streets.

I guess its a mix. I like my peace so a smaller town is better suited for me but larger cities provide more opportunities to do stuff and you can get to meet more people.

I'd live in the big city if I could. I live in a small town (around 20,000) around 80 miles southwest of Chicago. I'd absolutely live in Chicago if I could afford it. But alas, Ottawa is what I can afford.

ive experienced both and i can say without a doubt i prefer a big city, the thing about small towns is that everyone knows everyone, for better or worse, and i hated that fact, it was nice to see people you knew on a day to day basis, not so nice to have them all talk about you behind your back

I live in a small city with the benefits of a big city.

The best of both worlds.

I want to live in the middle of nowhere. well.... not quite. In the far outskirts of a small town, with a half hour drive to get in/out with no neighbors for... miles. I want to be able to party without bothering anyone. And EPIC parties would be had !!!!

I like living in a small town that's not far from a bigger city. I don't mind driving an hour or so for something special to do. It's only about a two hour flight to NYC if really want something different. My sister in law lives there so I have a place to stay. But for everyday life I want the quite simplicity of a small town. Plus with the internet anything is attainable.

Big city suburbs8)

Where I am currently is perfect, when I find my own house I intend to search for a similar area. Just a short drive away from Vancouver, but more secluded and less populated than the surrounding bigger cities in the area.

I hate crowded places and big cities, but I've seen enough horror films to know to stay the hell away from rural small towns.

The problem with suburbs is that there's absolutely nothing close by. Everything's orientated around strip malls and it's a ten minute drive just to get to the grocery store. The one thing I did like about living in the sububs (lived in Aurora until a couple of years ago) was that it was easy to get into Chicago. A few minutes to get to the train station, get on the train and before you know it you're right in the heart of the city without having to deal with traffic.

Welcome then to high rent, high utilities, more taxes, and a ton of toll bridges and toll roads.:P I've driven in every borough of NYC, and the traffic is murder in some places even at 4 AM, like Manhattan.

Grew up in a town of less than 500. Currently live in a city of roughly 300k+. While I certainly love the small town way of life, I have to accept that there are more opportunities in the city.

Well I live in the suburbs but if I had to choose I'd rather a small town. I have only been to a few like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Wilmington for big cities and I hated all of them.

I don't mind either one... My grandparents live in a small town, and it's nice, though it can get boring at times. I'm indifferent about most big cities, except for some cities in the Northeast. NYC, Philly, Boston, Providence, Jersey City, all look really cool and I'd love to live in any of them.

Big city for me, on an apartment, on a very high floor.
