Would you rather live in a small town or a big city?

I've lived in a small city all my life, so I would much rather live in a big city when I have my own career. I've visited New York City, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles, all of which are big, exciting cities, and these visits have compelled me to live in such a city when I get older. Preferably NYC :)

I like the simple life of a small town. I've been to several cities, but I never really had any desire to live in one.

just visisted Chicago recently, and while the city was amazing, i couldnt imagine living there.

i like living in my small town. nice and simple.

Medium sized city. With anywhere from 20 - 100k people.

I live in a college town right now that has somewhere around 30,000 people and that is a pretty good size for me

I'm small town through and through.

Big cities, since it seems like there's always something able to be done.

I'd live in the big city if I could. I live in a small town (around 20,000) around 80 miles southwest of Chicago. I'd absolutely live in Chicago if I could afford it. But alas, Ottawa is what I can afford.

I grew up in a small town and now reside in a city. I dislike the city andcannot wait to move to a small town again.

Small town life for me. I dream of that one day.

I'd rather live in a small city thats close to other big cities so I can go there every weekend.

ive experienced both and i can say without a doubt i prefer a big city, the thing about small towns is that everyone knows everyone, for better or worse, and i hated that fact, it was nice to see people you knew on a day to day basis, not so nice to have them all talk about you behind your back

I live in a small city with the benefits of a big city.

The best of both worlds.

Not sure, I'm transfering colleges to a big city for the very reason that I want to experience what city life is like.

That drives me crazy as well, I live in small and its annoying that I run into people I know everywhere. I can't even go on a jog without talking to someone I know.

Good God yes! Absolute truth. In a small town everybody knows your business, whether you want them to or not.

I want to live in the middle of nowhere. well.... not quite. In the far outskirts of a small town, with a half hour drive to get in/out with no neighbors for... miles. I want to be able to party without bothering anyone. And EPIC parties would be had !!!!Lost-Memory

Where I am currently is perfect, when I find my own house I intend to search for a similar area. Just a short drive away from Vancouver, but more secluded and less populated than the surrounding bigger cities in the area.

I hate crowded places and big cities, but I've seen enough horror films to know to stay the hell away from rural small towns.

The problem with suburbs is that there's absolutely nothing close by. Everything's orientated around strip malls and it's a ten minute drive just to get to the grocery store. The one thing I did like about living in the sububs (lived in Aurora until a couple of years ago) was that it was easy to get into Chicago. A few minutes to get to the train station, get on the train and before you know it you're right in the heart of the city without having to deal with traffic.

I live in a small town (about 1400 peolpe) and I HATE EVERY SECOND OF IT!:x

Well I live in the suburbs but if I had to choose I'd rather a small town. I have only been to a few like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Wilmington for big cities and I hated all of them.

I don't mind either one... My grandparents live in a small town, and it's nice, though it can get boring at times. I'm indifferent about most big cities, except for some cities in the Northeast. NYC, Philly, Boston, Providence, Jersey City, all look really cool and I'd love to live in any of them.
