Would you read...

A story based on videogames, if it was written by a gamer? I may well get moderated for this plugging, but I wanted to test the waters for the story I wrote, before I go for publishers.

To disguise this, I'm going to ask you guys how much you read, and what kind of stuff you read - I'm currently blasting through Bill Bryson books and loving them, what about you?

Well, the story is about a bunch of teenagers, and the action scenes are all from random video games, without getting too specific, cos that's illegal :P But yeah - it's all finished, and to be honest, the video game aspect is a curse and a blessing, because it allows normal human characters to be ninjas in the action scenes while keeping it believable, unlike certain authors - Clive Cussler I'm looking at you. The problem is, it makes the story derivative, and can be reliant on stupid gaming ideas, which makes it inacessible, and if you liberate it too much, unrealistic.

No! Not at all! It started a bit too fan-fictiony, with ridiculously in-depth references to specific games, but I just zoomed out a bit, and made it games in general, which let me go wherever I wanted with them. But it is an independent story, written as such!
