The world lies in ruin.
A hero lies in wait.

Ten years of brutal war has torn humanity apart. Lands burn, cities crumble, and the population dwindles in the face of an unstoppable alien onslaught. They fight mercilessly, enslaving those who surrender and butchering all who oppose. Not a mortal soul knows why, and so far no man nor god has been able to resist the seemingly inevitable destruction bound to the human fate.

Until now.

Hope for survival has long ago faded, but lust for revenge still lingers within the powerful warriors of a once-rebellious nation . . . and in the destructive force arising within a young slave named Elóin.

If it had a theme or some sort of deeper allegory, yes.

Well, it's not sci-fi, if that's what you're thinking. It's fantasy. By "alien" I mean a race from overseas. It's also told in first-person.

I don't think so.

I'm reading so many damn books as it is, I really don't have time to read something that seems as generic as that.

Sounds like a post-apocalyptic thriller mixed with Lord of the Rings... creative... not really interesting.

I don't think that first-person is really the best way to tell a story. Most of the time this means that the character doesn't die or he wouldn't be able to tell the story. I think your better of telling it in third-person, that way the reader doesn't know who's safe.

Nope. Judging from the places that my sister has bookmarked, it sounds like low-grade roleplay quality, not a good story.

Judging a book by a chapter or two is just as bad as judging it by its cover...sure some books have a great first chapter that pulls you right in, but more often then not you have to keep reading to get into the story. If i quit reading every story that didn't grab me after the first chapter there are soem great books i never would have read.

To the TC...it does seem like a very generic fantasy story. It is a lot easier to get into a story where it isn't just good vs. evil, it's harder to get into a story that is just the cliche "slave/child/whatever must become a hero"
