You have to do what your afraid of. If your shy, make yourself talk to strangers everyday, even if its just "hi". Just keep forcing yourself out of your comfort zone a little everyday.
Sounds like a self conscious person not a shy person.Ignore the thoughts you have that other peoplehave negative thoughts about you, because it's all in your head.

I don't agree with that at all.
Social inhibition is a very good thing, and is why most people wait until they get online before letting their racism, sexism, and just genuinely ass tendencies out.
If most people talk "in real life" the same way that they talk and act online, then yes...the world would be a much worse place. Yes, people absolutely SHOULD be worried about other people having negative thoughts about them. Otherwise, what's the incentive to NOT walk up to a neighbor's house and personally take a dump right on his doorstep? What's the incentive to not slash your enemy's tires? That's the sort of thing that you'll never get punished for doing, yet people don't do it. Because they know that if they do it, they'll brag about it to someone. Then that person will call them a scumbag son of a mother******.
Social stigma keeps people from doing that stuff. And that's important. If no one cared what anyone else thinks, then no one would bother to shave, shower, or stop farting in public.

yea I think thats a good thing to believe.
I stopped caring a long time ago...I am still self conscious about my weight, but thats the only thing I am conservative about. The rest of the time, I say what I like, I do what I feel like doing, and if people like it (they usually do, I'm a good person) then great...if not, well, thats cool too.
Also, get a job dealing with people. That helped me get over my shyness reeeeally fast

It was more or less a joke, lighten up.
Also, a glass of wine is a little different than a syringe of heroin.

Keep it real. If you're shy by nature and you prefer being that way embrace it. There's nothing worse than being an arrogant fool.
