Would you talk about gamespot during a job interview??

Job interviewers want to know that you can perform the job but they also care about you being well rounded. Some on here have tens of thousands of posts, probably have read hundres of gaming articles/reviews and spent countless hours surfing the site. Would you mention gamespot as one of your hobbies when asked what you like to do outside work? For those of you a bit younger, maybe consider the college application and interview process. Would you mention games spot as one of your extra curricular activities? Why or why not?

No. Employers don't care about your hobbies, unless those hobbies are related to the job you're seeking, and that would never be the case for me.

Absolutely not. Most people in the real world don't give a sh!t about you being super into video games, and might even consider it to be a bad thing. An addiction of sorts. Sign of an unstable person.

In my country most people, apart from gamers who are usually young, have no idea what gamespot is so... no.

I have to say it's one of the first things that catches my eye. ;)

Hell no. The interviewer would look at you crazy if you talked about it unless you worked here and were trying to a get a job elsewhere in the game industry.

Why would I say I got GS? That's like saying I have a bunch of Facebook friends or I go to Youtube a lot, that isn't relevent to the job at all. Though I did first come to GS because of a job, real boring office one that I quit within a few weeks, I just goofed off on here to pass the time a bit in between real work stuff, which rarely came.

What's the point of working if you hate your job? That's not living, that's just surviving.

Yeah,no. The only time I would mention just viewing the GameSpot home page is if I were going for a job in gaming retail.

No, I wouldn't mention GS. I would just mention video games and leave it at that. Some employers may interpret the mention of GS as an unhealthy amount of time dedicated to game-related activity.
