Well?
Depends on the crime, and what the intent was. Giant corporations are literally lie, cheat, and steal and are also the cause of death to millions of people every year and get away with it legally so I'm inclined to think it would have to be something terrible that effects my moral compass rather than a black and white standard of a law.
As long as it's not Murder, I can look the other way. Petty thieves like stealing a cookie jar isn't worth my time or confronting the person who did it.
But I will turn in someone who is selling illegal drugs to kids, yeah you're going down and I will call the police. Selling it to adults who made their choice in life, I'll just be passing by.
My dad use to pirate VHS tapes with a double tape recorder, Hot Shots Part Duex was bouncing all over the shit.
He died before I could report him.
Serious crime, like injury, abuse, or death? Yes.
Anything else, sort of depends. Not going to turn in my niece for stealing a candy bar, I'm going to tell her mom and that is far, far, far worse 😋
Depends on the crime and reason. I can even overlook murder, depending on the reason behind it. So many women go to jail for killing the abuser of their kids. I'm sorry, but I'd be willing to look the other way in such situations. Though I wouldn't overlook even a petty crime, depending on the situation. Like I normally don't care that people steal, especially if they steal from major corporations. If you steal from a poor person that's already struggling, you're a scumbag that deserves to get turned in.
