Wow. I just discovered who my great grandfather was.

Anyone ever heard of a man named Robert F. Sargant? Well, he was my great-grandfather and he took this picture:

I feel honored, and I never even knew who he was. I was going through my father's file, and I found a copy of this picture, that after asking my grandmother she stated that it was a copy of the actual negative taken from the camera used for this picture. It even has his writing on it. Do you guys have any famouse people in your family?

oh, and idk if it counts but my stepmom used to be best friends with the original members of Screeching weasel. There first gig was at a party she had actually, they don't talk much anymore but they still keep in contact through facebook and the occasional call.

WoW thats a ballsy place to stop and take a picture. Sounds like a cool fella. I hope he made it out of the landing craft in one piece. My grandfather fought in WW2. After the main force went through his group would go through the towns and stuff and make sure kinda make sure they didn't miss any. He brought home a german helmet, a luger and also a few german knives. He was cool. It was always interesting hearing him talk about the war.

The closest I coem to being related to someone famous is through this guy my dad works with (okay, so I'm not related), His wife is first cousins with John Bonham from Led Zeppelin and he met them on a few occassions. Each year they visit that side of the family, and comes back with tons of pictures of Rare signed Led Zeppelin Merch :P

other than that, I don't really come close to any famous people haha.
