Wrestling's kinda' dumb, in my opinion.
First, I find the whole thing weird. Wrestling is fake, the wrestlers know the fans know it's fake, the fans know that the wrestlers know they know it's fake. It's not like a normal TV show where that fourth wall is up and the audience doesn't exist... it just feels like the entire thing is pointless.
Secondly, the acting isn't particularly that great. There's a reason why only a few wrestlers have gone on to become successful actors. Most of them just aren't convincing.
Third, the writing is ridiculous. You got serious fighting sports like MMA taking wrestling fans away because it's real. WWE needs to take the company in a more realistic direction, and having guys like Umaga, Great Khali, and The Boogeyman running around ruins any believability the rest of the show had. Unless they want to appeal more to children, then bring the cartoon characters on!
Just seems to me that wrestling is slowly dying. I think there's always going to be a market it for it, but I think most people follow it just out of habit because the current product is pretty poor, and has been poor for years.

When someone gets hit in the head with a steel chair their getting hit in the head with a steel chair. When Mick Foley fell 30 feet off of the Hell In A Cell cage he wasn't attached to a wire, he really fell 30 feet to the ground. And so what if it's scripted? People go to plays and and Broadway shows and they aren't real but people still enjoy them. People watch UFC where each and every person has a nickname and some personality to them and people still like that. Their as much a fake character as a wrestler. I know UFC is real but do you actually think those fighters act all that flamboyant when their not in the ring?

If you hit someone in the head with a steel chair, it's not going to dent and make a loud noise like it does on TV. They're made out of aluminum--the same stuff a popcorn tin or cookie sheet is made out of.
Secondly, guys falling 30 feet up onto straight ground is extremely rare. Even Foley fell on the announcing table to break his fall a little bit. I'm aware that there some things you can't fake, but 99% of it is fake. When I say fake, I don't mean scripted, I mean they aren't punching dudes full force in the face. Moves like the pile driver are performed so no one actually gets hurt, and when they do get hurt (like Owen Hart injuring Austin) no one is happy with it because it's not supposed to happen. Most of the time when you see someone bleed, it's because they cut themsleves with a razor blade. You can't cite examples that happen once every five years and say "It's real because 10 years ago Mick Foley fell 30 feet!". Wrestling is generally fake and scripted. None of the wrestlers are supposed to get hurt.
Like I said, the problem isn't that it's scripted, it's that their acting abilities are generally pretty poor. That's why people like me can watch a play and get into it, but when I watch wrestling it just looks cheesey. "This Sunday, at Wrestlemania, I'm going to take you to hell, Orton!" It's just cheesey.
If you like wrestling, then more power to you. I'm not saying you're dumb for liking wrestling, but I do think wrestling as a form of entertainment is dumb.
