Which rivalries do you guys think were/are the best in wrestling? I liked the Undertaker and the Million $ corporation rivalry, that produced some of the best matches e.g. Undertaker vs Undertaker, Undertaker vs King Kong, Undertaker vs Kama.

Nothing beats the Steve Austin vs McMahon and NWO Era of wrestling. The late 90's were the pinnacle IMO Monday Night Wars were at their maximum. Ton's of great wrestlers, great characters, and good action. It's no wonder that the quality of show and superstar has fallen in recent years. Guys are being brought up before they are ready, and in an effort to push the envelope the storylines are either absurd, or just lame rehashes of tried and true ideas. I really can't get into the top stars of today, and am only interested when I hear of the return of an old favorite like Kane or Jericho only to find Kane in some asinine arch with John Cena. Jericho has been funny though, as he always is.Nuck81I'll agree the stories were the best in the late 90s. The wrestlers though, by far, were the best in the mid 80s-mid 90s.

Can't really beat Ric Flair/Randy Savage/Ricky Steamboat/Mr Perfect/Bret Hart/HBK/etc. That time period probably had some of the worst wrestlers too though.

It's almost hard to remember back to when wrestlers were actually unique and interesting. There's really nothing redeeming about today's WWE. It's sad.[QUOTE="JML897"]

I agree that I'd like to see more interesting characters, even if they're borderline cartoonish like Ultimate Warrior was. It's better than guys with first and last names who just fall into two personality types: "cocky" or "nice"

That's what I miss. I miss the over the top, bright characters from the 80s and 90s. The Warrrior, Macho Man, REAL Undertaker, Hogan, Bam Bam, Yokozuna, etc. Every character was super unique and interestig. Now every wrestler is a tattooed buff guy in a black speedo. Every freakin' guy looks exactly the same. Where'd the originality go? Hell, they almost don't even wrestle anymore! I still catch an episode from time to time when I remember it's still on the air, and there's maybe like two matches in a three hour span now and it's just the nobody guys.and
not a rivalries but my favorite matches:
There are plenty of guys that can still work, but unfortunately the story line has taken center stage. Back in the 80's and 90's it was still about the matches, the storylines were just the catalyst to get them in the ring. Not so much anymore, which is a shame. That was one of my favorite things about WCW before Vince Russo took over. There were three or four main sotry archs per show, but most of the two hours were just two guys in the ring putting on an entertaining match. Lance Storm Ultimo Dragon Booker T William Regal Fit Finaly Eddie Guerrero Dean Malenko Chris Jericho Christian Cage Psychosis Kurt Angle Kane Chris Jericho All among my favorite wrestlers. There are lots more I'm forgettingNuck81There is something seriously wrong wrong with the fact that wrestling is no longer about...wrestling. If all people want is a soap opera, I'm sure there's better ones on during the day.

I don't disagree, that's why I rarely keep up with it anymore. And I've never seen a single show of TNA, so I have no clue what's going on there. The Invasion(WCW and ECW vs. WWF)
JML897
The Invasion should have been so much better than it was. They just turned it into a McMahon family feud instead.
Not to mention a lot of the biggest WCW guys didn't come to WWE until later, like DDP/Goldberg/NWO
The Invasion storyline hit it's peak with this. I miss the goofy Kurt Angle. The gimmick he had right after he lost his hair and wore the wig was just hilarious. But Kurt was always good for some laughsWWF vs WCW
Almost any rivalrie durring the 'attitude' era
Tommy Dreamer vs Raven
Spike Dudley in old ECW vs any large opponent.

It makes current WWE look like (insert your favorite era of wrestling here).
TNA is terrible.
It used to be awesome. Fast paced wrestling, awesome/insane moves, ultimate x and no huge named wrestlers creating a glass ceiling.[QUOTE="JML897"][QUOTE="Nuck81"]And I've never seen a single show of TNA, so I have no clue what's going on there. Invisible_Kid2

I remember the X Division title actually seemed more important than the NWA Heavyweight Title for a short period of time.
Then it just turned into a place where WWE rejects and other washed up guys could show up. Now they've added guys like Crimson and Gunner who blow.

Do you avoid watching other TV shows or movies because they're scripted?
nope
i really thought wrestling is real
i have watched that for 5 years (2001-2006) i was like 6 years old when i first watched wrestling
i also have wrestling action figures and a ring with micro series and the deluxe version with breakable table and laptop and such
i really enjoyed someone getting hurt at that time, when i knew that it was scripted i feel sad and stopped watching it

Vince McMahon's been saying that it's scripted entertainment for 30 years.
