Not to sound dismissive (not that i am) or anything but...

I felt extremely compelled to share a much more cynical perspective on this holiday

Sincerely speaking winter might actually be the worst season ever (SRS)

For starters if the weather interferes with day-to-day activities then yeah there's going to be some issues here

The music could seriously be turned down a just a bit :smh: :vom:

Also I'm not going to put up an act yeah screw that & the fact that it all seems so forced only reinforces my negative beliefs

Overall if there's anything to take away from this it would be the (incredibly redundant) EMPHASIS on gifts (Here's an amazing article covering just that)

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2078358/amp/Why-giving-Christmas-presents-pointless-bad-economy.html?fbclid=IwAR0DAfiMbApCEP1AnF7-F9pvOIFBfrJuGhjL4m9edl0vzi7r8r2OsTKKAIs

.

.

.

.

(Final Notes)

So to paraphrase X-Mas wouldn't just be another day of the week to me if it hasn't felt so forced/had other intents and actually served it's purpose

S/O thanksgiving and all other quality holidays that don't try to sell me any B.S

(In this case that's the "holiday spirit")

But it's always screw columbus day no matter what

:shh:
i also dont worship any deity/deities
/thread (ad infinitum)

I don't celebrate any holidays. Holiday traditions are dumb and constricting. That said, I get to stay home, eat anything I want, and play video games. What's not to love about that?

I see that as quite a pessimistic view on Christmas! I love Christmas, it's a great time of the year where people try to be more welcoming. It's tradition.

Why does it have to be like every day of the year? The point is that it's special because we choose it to be special. The world can be a dark and unforgiving place, which is why it's good to find reasons to celebrate when we can.

Christmas can be a stressful time for many. Yeah, seeing the family is all well and good - but what if you don't get along? Why force things?
