I just can't get too excited over this one, especially after X-Men: The Last Stand.

Same, that movie was garbage.
But they've taken the best thing about the X-Men movies , i.e Wolverine, and made a whole movie about him, I think it will be pretty good and will sit comfortably between Ironman and Dark Knight in the scale of good comic book movies

I strongly doubt that. Just because the character has an interesting story doesn't mean the movie will be good. Early screenings have been really bad. Again, Fox is in control of the movie so it will most likely be bad.
I can't wait for this but I think X-Men Origins: Magneto will be better since it's directed by David S. Goyer, who has the most knowledge of comics in Hollywood.

That's if this one is suscessful. Plus, even though Goyer is a decent enough writer, his directorial skills might leave something to be desired to some. Blade: Trinity and The Invisible is proof of that.

That's if this one is suscessful. Plus, even though Goyer is a decent enough writer, his directorial skills might leave something to be desired to some. Blade: Trinity and The Invisible is proof of that. Don't forget 'Zig Zag'. He did direct that new movie 'Unborn' which looks OK but I see what you mean.
