Today I found out that someone tried to force the lock on my front door. They didn't get very far, though.
How about you?

not sure if this counts as "shit jacked" but I've had 2 expensive graphing calculators stolen from me. once in hs and again in college.
In highschool, someone stole an iPod from me. I don't know who it was because I made the mistake of leaving my iPod in my backpack, as I went to change out of my gym clothes. I arrived back to see my iPod gone. And the bad thing was, gym was where most kids skipped class, so we basically had a bunch of random students there.
Then in college, I brought lunch from home and put it in the campus fridge. Basically, a lot of students hold their lunch there, and so I held my lunch there because I arrived at 8 AM and didn't want the lunch just sitting in my backpack. Class ends at 12:50 PM, and I check the fridge to see that someone stole my lunch. Once again, I have no idea who it was since it's a fucking college campus. And the thing is, my lunch wasn't even that good. It was a basic ass turkey sandwich with red grapes. Who the hell wants to steal that?
Yeah. Some people stole some of my games, that sucked. Also had my car broken into but I don't keep anything in there.
@luxuryheart: Had my iPod (Touch) stolen too. I had some personal recordings on there I won't get back, that sucks.
Yup, had some things stolen from work. Nothing too bad, but I did get my expensive Yeti water bottle and some unique-to-employees merchandise stolen from me that had sentimental value.
Got with security as this was a problem for many others, and we basically monitored the guy we knew it was and built up a huge list of stolen items--wallets, bikes, etc--until it got to the dollar amount it goes from misdemeanor to felony, then we got him.
He was, of course, stealing it all for drug money. Guy would basically come in to work, eat people's food, steal anything small and valuable to pawn, and go home and do meth.
It's not a good feeling. I like to think I have a pretty good sense of right and wrong and the very idea that there are people in the world that don't feel guilt over stealing sort of breaks my brain. Like...I can't fathom the idea of doing that. I'm not talking "stealing bread to feed your kids" theft, I'm just talking about your average "I want that for money" theft. I just can't understand how people live with themselves.
a total of 4 times.
one at parent house,2 at a conventions and last one was a failed attempt to break into my house, but they did crack up my vehicle door and steal my camera.
Nope. I'm fortunate enough to live in a very nice town which is big on vineyards/farming/tourism (war of 1812). I managed to avoid moving to either of the cities beside me as I got a new-build condo for a great price, and those cities have very rough areas.
In elementary school, my friends and I were Pokemon card collectors. I had a small binder full of my cards, and a lot of them were worth a crap ton of money today, one being worth $500 last I checked around 2016 or earlier. It may be worth more now. That's just to give you an idea. Anyway, it got stolen. I was devastated. But weeks later, a teacher comes to me and hands me my binder. Nothing was missing, and the teacher told me one of my friends jacked it from my backpack. I never found out which friend, though.
Someone broke into my car and stole my book bag. Thankfully the quarter had already ended, but my TI-91 was in it and that was probably the most valuable thing they got. They tried to take my CD player but gave up.
Yes had a break in when I was a kid we was away on holiday came back and had my Xbox and all the games stolen. And stupidly had no insurance at the time.
Some people stole some stuff out of my gameshop, but luckily it happened to be a few games with very little value so
not too much of a loss. However, that did make me aware that the current layout/set up wasn't so good if people could do that. So I made a change that was probably needed in the first place to help prevent this from happening again.
Back in the day my car was broken into and my CD player was stolen. More recently my outdoor camera notified me when someone was snooping around my car and trying to get into it. I cocked a bullet into the chamber behind him and he hasn't been back since.

Oh you mean nicked, I had no idea what you meant!
Concrete tools back when I did construction and stuff taken off the truck. Found out real quick to leave someone in the truck to keep eyes while your partner goes in to get supplies. Come to think of it, we never reported a single incident of theft to anyone. Just chalked it up as a...damn it, that's a loss.
