A trillion dollars? Are we expecting this with or without inflation? Current worth of the dollar?
First thing I would do would be to either buy out all 3 of the big 3 car companies, or start my own company. All of the "new car part that makes your car get 100 mpg" kind of stories you have heard about over the years? I would force those to be implimented in all cars my company makes, there would also be better materials used for the cars, designed in a way you can keep you car for 20 years or more without needing major work, just regular maintanance. My cars would also be designed to work on flex fuels, so you could pour in any alchohol and the car will work, or a mix of alchohol and gasoline, or gasoline.
So I would ruin the competition with cars that can work off of any fuel, that get 100+ miles per gallon, and sturdy, that last for years.
I would then set up a national bullet train system for fast cheap transportation and cargo.
I would also either buy or create a telecomunications company that would create a fiber optic network, or whatever the fastest current system for ISP would be.
I would also gather together a group of 560 friends who think the same as I do, and fund their political campaigns, and my political campaign, so that they all get into the senate, and congress, while I run for president. And we'd change most of the bull$hit in this country as far as national law goes.
And I'd probably still have enough money left over to live comfortably. There are some other things I'd think of, as well :D
