So has your state adopted yet, and if so how are your rates looking?

I won't be able to see mine until October 1st.

Already get free insurance provided from my mom's work. 100% coverage, although that's been slowly diminishing... :(

It largely won't affect me. I'm covered by an employer insurance plan and the rates I pay will stay the same. A friend of mine will be able to get health insurance for the first time in a decade, though. She's infertile, and she was previously unable to get coverage because that's considered a pre-existing condition.

Illinois apparently has a myriad of options available to me, though I may not need it because of the coverage I have through school.  States that actually embraced the law and prepared for its implementation will have positive results for their citizens, imagine that!

It makes a starving 20 year old college student liable to pay fines that increase annually if he or she doesn't buy health insurance.

And all the people losing their jobs and watching their hours get cut to part time thank them for being lazy. I would really love health insurance but regardless of whether I have this insurance or not, care will still cost me thousands I do not have. This plan is designed to take your money. Not like I could afford medical care anyway since the bronze plan only covers 60%. Might as well be 10%. You bastards voted for this though. Barrack confusing everybody about what Obamacare even was. Making them think it would be like Canada. He sure saw you guys coming. Liberals are so easily taken advantage of and the rest of us have to suffer as a result.

Yup. Covered California, CA's exchange, opens up soon. I'll get some insurance, but only because I had cancer in '07 and haven't had a checkup in a long time.

Other than that, it's disgusting that the federal government can now tell you that you have to buy a product or get fined. Furthermore, the IRS collects the fine. You know that when the IRS is involved, it's gonna be a big screw-up from the get-go. Big government at its finest, folks!

I'm not sure.  I already have some of the best employer provided insurance in the nation and work for the highest paying healthcare organization.  If anything I have more to lose than to gain from this.  We'll see how my company does...

Are you still covered by your parents health insurance until 26 even if you don't live at home? Either way, I think this bill would at least help reduce fraud and stop that pre existing denial crap.

Also, since "demand" is going up, does this mean more health insurance companies will be popping up?

Yes, you can still be covered even if you don't physically live in the household. Also, I don't believe dental/vision are required to be provided (someone asked about dental).

A 'poor' man wouldn't be able to afford the deductible on any private insurance regardless if the ACA was law or not. Great coverage, like say through Cobra, is ridiculously expensive if you're job doesn't subsidize the bulk of it.

Being that I am a working American that makes over 60K a year and am under the age of 36 I am getting fisted in the ass by health premiums to help pay for others.  So I absolutely hate it and think its unfair.  I woudlnt mind paying a little extra, but hundreds of dollars a month is just plain robbery.  I fail to believe there isnt a better solution than raping the working class...

My understanding of Obamacare is that it obliges Obama to provide carepersonally.

I expect him to give me a sponge bath every morning if I'm confined to bed for more than a day or two.

And if I should have diarrhea ...

I know this and all Obamacare does is give them an insurance they can't afford to even really use anyway. I'm not even that poor and know that after reading up on the plans, I'm no better off than I was before the ACA. When he was seeking election, he spun this off like a true salesman. People thought we were going to finally be like the rest of the world. Well think again.

I honestly don't know; I live in New York City. Anyhow, I have medical, dental, and ocular insurance courtesy of my job, so I'm good.
