This person isnt a "Wanna Be" if you dont know who he is.. then i feel sorry for you..
I dont care for wayne, soulja boy, or lil chihuahua
No. There's not enough actual music in rap for me to get interested in. What music there is, is usually a simple 4/4 continuous loop with an accent on the 4th beat and varying accents every 8th or 16th beat.br0kenrabbit
That's poor rap. Listen to this, please:

It barely qualifies as music IMO.

That's false. The chorus has that music throughout the song. Also, quite obviously, the drum loop does change during certain parts of the song to help add emphasis to certain lines.
Music doesn't require melodic elements be called music. Much of it is very atonal and fragmented, but we still call it music. It barely qualifies as music IMO.

No, it's the same drum beat over and over, with two short pauses near the end. Here's a good example of musical progression. The beginning of the song doesn't sound like the middle doesn't sound like the end. That's false. The chorus has that music throughout the song. Also, quite obviously, the drum loop does change during certain parts of the song to help add emphasis to certain lines.

Not counting the chorus, it is indeed mostly the same as far as the drum beat goes. That's the thing about rap, though, it isn't about the beat in the background as much as rock or jazz. It's more about the lyrics, sort of like blues music.

Your not a muscian unless you play and instrument or have a voice.
I like actual Music not talking into the mic with the annoying beats.

So your saying 'i've listened to some mainstream rap and hated it I began to scratch the surface of great rap but i'm not gonna listen to any more because it's rap'Rap makes me wish I didn't have ears.
Although I don't mind some select stuff - Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Jungle Bros., Outkast (some...)...etc...

Nah, I used to listen to it but haven't bothered for the last 8 years or so as I haven't heard anything decent. I still dig out my old albums once in a while.
