I don't like what is accepted as rap by the general public today, the likes of Soulja Boy and 50 Cent, but I do enjoy some rap and hip-hop such as Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Jurassic 5, and (kind of) Aesop Rock. Not counting the chorus, it is indeed mostly the same as far as the drum beat goes. That's the thing about rap, though, it isn't about the beat in the background as much as rock or jazz. It's more about the lyrics, sort of like blues music.

Nah, I used to listen to it but haven't bothered for the last 8 years or so as I haven't heard anything decent. I still dig out my old albums once in a while.
