GSA?Genetic Sexual Attraction. It's a rather common condition that happens between siblings or parents and children who were separated at a very young age and only met and became familiar with each other in a substantial way in their adult years. I've read that it happens as often as half of the cases of parents and children, or siblings, being reunited as adults, though as I understand it, it doesn't develop into a sexual relationship in most cases. Those who experience the attraction in most cases discard it.
The theory I've heard about the phenomenon is that human beings tend to find face and body characteristics similar to their own more attractive. When being raised together in the case of siblings, or being raised by parents in the case of parent/child, a psychological deterrent is developed against this sort of attraction for the individuals that we were raised by or with. This has been observed to happen not only for real siblings and parents, but siblings and parents who are not genetically related, and even in cases where children are raised in close proximity to other individuals (such as in certain cultural pre-marriage arrangements made in youth).
But when circumstances don't allow for that, such as in adoptions or the like, that deterrent has not been developed. From what I've read on the subject, for many of these individuals, the attraction is too strong to ignore, leading them to either make another complete and total separation to avoid a sexual outcome, or just succumbing to the sexual relationship.
