I personally liked the music in "There Will Be Blood".It added to the tense feeling of the movie.

Lost in Translation, and The Crow.
Edit - oh, if you're talking about music that was made just for the movie, then I don't know. The aformentioned There Will Be Blood and Star Wars were indeed good. And anything with Danny Elfman.
Nina Rota's scores for both The Godfather Part I, and II. Ennio Morricone's score for The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, Once Upon A Time In The West, Once Upon A Time in America etc:
Other favorites scores are for Akira, Requiem for A Dream, and Blade Runner.
I like a lot of work done by the British composer Debbie Wiseman. She mostly creates the soundtracks for UK dramas and movies such as Haunted (from which her best work can be found). It's all so very English.
has anyone heard of mysterious skin's ost? it's awesome, highly recommended
EDIT: btw wow,no mention of 28 weeks late's ost? :|
By itself, the only OST I can truly just put on shuffle and enjoy over and over again is Lord of the Rings. However there are plenty of others I enjoy (PotC, TGTB&TU, Star Wars, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Reqiuem For A Dream, Lawrence of Arabia, James Bond, Letters From Iwo Jima, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Terminator)...angelkimneI love you! :D
Pink Floyd's The Wall, for sure. The Departed, 8 Mile, and School of Rock have great ones too, as far as actual songs are concerned.
For original scores, I like The Illusionist, the first Pirates of the Caribbean, and A Beatiful Mind.
And one more thing: I think that Martin Scorsese's use of "House of the Rising Sun" in Casino is my favorite use of any music in any movie.
Yeh, that sprung to mind at first, though are probably others. I know liked the music in The Lion King when I was younger. :PI personally liked the music in "There Will Be Blood".It added to the tense feeling of the movie.
dominer
are you talking about original soundtrack or score? you meant soundtrack but there will be blood only had a score, i believe. as for best soundtrack, the life aquatic and little miss sunshine were great.mattg90520
YES!!! Haha, im really glad The Life Aquatic was one of the first movies mentioned. Thats the first one that popped in my mind when I read the title to this. Seu Jorge and his Portugese covers of classic David Bowie songs is one reason why I love this movie so much. Wes Anderson is a genius.
