Charlie: Should've brought that gun along, buddy.

Marty: I don't believe in them.

Charlie: In guns? You don't believe in guns? They ain't f*cking leprechauns, you dumb ****.

___________

Hans: An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.

Billy: No, it doesn't. There'll be one guy left with one eye. How's the last blind guy gonna take out the eye of the last guy left?

Have some pride in yourself. Have some faith in Jesus Christ as your lord and dont tell this scumsucking motherf*ckers nothing.

Through me you pass into the city of woe:
Through me you pass into eternal pain:
Through me among the people lost for aye.
Justice the founder of my fabric moved:
To rear me was the task of Power divine,
Supremest Wisdom, and primeval Love.
Before me things create were none, save things
Eternal, and eternal I endure.
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

Men are less worried about harming somebody who makes himself loved than someone who makes himself feared, for love is held by a chain of obligation which, since men are bad, is broken at every opportunity for personal gain. Fear, on the other hand, is maintained by a dread of punishment which will never desert you.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

You oughta hear the arguments around my house - "They're annoying", "They're idiots", "They're evil", "They're FVCKs!" Brothers, sisters, come together! Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" This is now a Bill Hicks memorial thread Here is my final point...About drugs, about alcohol, about pornography...What business is it of yours what I do, read, buy, see, or take into my body as long as I do not harm another human being on this planet? And for those who are having a little moral dilemma in your head about how to answer that question, I'll answer it for you. NONE of your **** business. Take that to the bank, cash it, and go **** on a vacation out of my life. Bill Hicks I loved when Bush came out and said, 'We are losing the war against drugs.' You know what that implies? There's a war being fought, and the people on drugs are winning it. Bill Hicks Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Heres Tom with the Weather. Bill Hicks

Because you make so little impression, you see. You get born and you try this and you don't know why only you keep on trying it and you are born at the same time with a lot of other people, all mixed up with them, like trying to, having to, move your arms and legs with strings only the same strings are hitched to all the other arms and legs and the others all trying and they don't know why either except that the strings are all in one another's way like five or six people all trying to make a rug on the same loom only each one wants to weave his own pattern into the rug; and it can't matter, you know that, or the Ones that set up the loom would have arranged things a little better, and yet it must matter because you keep on trying or having to keep on trying and then all of a sudden it's all over and all you have left is a block of stone with scratches on it provided there was someone to remember to have the marble scratched and set up or had time to, and it rains on it and the sun shines on it and after a while they don't even remember the name on it and what the scratches were trying to tell, and it doesn't matter. And so maybe if you could go to someone, the stranger the better, and give them something - a scrap of paper - something, anything, it not to mean anything in itself and them not even to read it or keep it, not even bother to throw it away or destroy it, at least it would be something just because it would have happened, be remembered even if only from passing from one hand to another, one mind to another, and it would be at least a scratch, something, something that might make a mark on something that was once for the reason that it can die someday, while the block of stone can't be is because it never can become was because it can't ever die or perish......

Damn, that's real original.

Considering the nature of the story and that she had never spoken a word to anyone but her mother before her mother was killed by her owner years before, then the first thing that came to my mind when writing the scene was that line, the first thing she said in years. The line before that had been from her owner: Piece from the story ~ I can smell myself on his breath, it makes me sick. Why must the world be controlled by men? What right do they have to control so many just to suit themselves? And that is when the spark of life returns to me, that vital spark. I aim the gun at him. He stares at me, then smirks. He is stronger than me, but he is a spoiled fool who has been given life to him on a silver platter, as my mother used to say about men. "Who the hell do you think you are to point a gun at me?" He demands. For the first time in a very long time, I do something I have not done in so long I smile. "I'm the one with the gun" I say, speaking my first words to anyone since my mother and myself. His eyes widen in shock and I squeeze the trigger. In the story it was set in the near future where half of the human race is enslaved by those who don't want equality, while they also wipe out anyone who isn't a heterosexual male, who isn't by their religion 'pure'.

"Never let the enemy pick the battle site." ~ General Patton.Mink
Said every general ever. Sounds pretty generic.

It makes a lot of sense actually. You never want your opponent to have the upper hand, so fighting in an area that neither side knows keeps things on an even footing tactically.

"Christmas is the time when kids tell Santa what they want and adults pay for it. Deficits are when adults tell government what they want and their kids pay for it."

and

"I found one day in school a boy of medium size ill-treating a smaller boy. I expostulated, but he replied: 'The bigs hit me, so I hit the babies; that's fair.' In these words he epitomized the history of the human race."
