Your favorite year at Gamespot?

....in the time you've been using GS, what has been your favorite year? For me it has to be either 2003, when I started coming here by accident, because of misspelled Google searches. Or 2006 when the video content was actually awesome, for a short time(E3 06 FTW).

Around the time Halo 2 came out, I think the reviews were at their peak for the content they provided. That was also around the time of burning questions I believe, the greatest editorial in internet gaming history.

Bring back burning questions.

Only been here for 2 years, and I was never really that active.

I've been here for a little over a year.

Used to lurk and just started posting this year so i'll say late 2007-2008

Easily 2003. I would say summer of 2002, but in 2003 was when XBL came out and so this place + XBL was amazing. Plus in 2002 the forums rolled over totally to a new format so we lost a lot of people and 2003 we started getting a really nice bunch of regulars that were on almost religiously. Like I remember during the summer of 2003 we would sit around and play Yahoo! Pool, XBL and chat here from like 11pm till around 4am and just have general shenanigans. We would have random contests and activities where we would do stuff like make crazy food at 3 am or something and we all had 20 minutes to come up with the coolest looking food from what we had in our kitchens. Stublag perfected the triple decker PB&J that was actually edible. We would regularly geek out and make fun of daily news stories doing a ton of "add captions". Get some pretty sweet "around the campfire" stories where we would all take turns making up a part of the story and by around the 4th of July that summer we had a fan club going where people in the morning who never really stayed up with us at night would look at this and it became a regular weekly thing. Hmmmmm, what else. We held a marriage ceremony for Cindango and JoshtheBoss which lasted all of around 40 minutes. After Cindango insisted on doing honeymoon type stuff instead of Josh getting hot and bothered for Jak and Dexter, Josh called it off and filed for divorce(this was all fake of course, a long long history that led to this). We had the gamespot mafia where Calavara would write up a weekly story which was usually a few thousand words a week and we would always tune into and see who would be knocked off, who would be made, who would squeal, and who would stab who in the back ever Sunday night. THIS PLACE OWNED BACK IN THE DAY WHEN THE MODS ACTUALLY TOOK PART IN THIS INSTEAD OF JUST MODDING EVERYTHING!ice_radon

You pretty much summed it up perfectly. Summer of 2002 was amazing but 2003 was absolutely spectacular. SO many memories. It has just never been the same since.
