Your favourite artist/band so far this year?

Whos your favourite new/upcoming band or artisit who has released an album so far this year?

Mine would have to be The Bloody Beetroots. Myspace page here. Although they've been around since 2006, they just released their first full album, these guys are just so fresh and really seem to have their feet in many of doors the electronic genres has to offer.

So I ask you OT, who is your favourite new/upcoming band or artisit who has had a good release this year so far?

Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Formed in 2008, released their first album in 2009. Then again most of the members are in other, semi-established bands.

ViViD, they just got signed on PSC's indie label at the beginning of the year. They're by no means very original though, just a new band.

The xx. Their version of Hot Like Fire is one of the best songs ever. No joke.Neon-Tiger

They are fantastic. Im glad someone likes them. If you like them you should check out Wild Light, Girls, The Love Language, and Sunset Rubdown.

Definitely Denial. Catacombs of the Grotesque is one of the best death metal albums this year. Although, the members have already played in established bands.NecroKvltMuffin

I'm going to agree with The xx. Just got their album in the mail yesterday. There's lots of open space in their music. I really lke it.

Sunset Rubdown is awesome too. I'm not sure how much I like the new album, though. I kind of wish Spencer Krug would just pour all his energy into Wolf Parade, which I think it a much better band.

I love all of Morello's work.

Not really.

I mean i listen to some singers from time to time, but the majority of the stuff i listen too are from back in the day.

Grunge is sorta dead now so most new rock i listen to is alternative, the majority of the Soul/R&B artist are now pop-ish, not to say i don't like new people that come out i do, Keri Hilson is the bee neeees among others, but i wouldn't say i have a favorite upcoming artist lol or i just can't decide, most that i do like have already been out.
