Got to be the 80's for me. Everything was awesome, the Metal was raw and aggressive, the pop songs were amazing, just to mention two genres.

I never tire of it.

Good stuff from the 80's.

The 50s and 60s. Bebop and hardbop, some great swing albums and quite a lot of blues classics.

For rock music the '80s would be my favorite with the '90s a close second.

I am rather partial to the '60s. I like a lot of the oldies and rock of the time as well as the excellent jazz. I like music from all time periods, though. I listen to a lot of jazz and classical, so that goes back further than my interest in more contemporary genres like rock.

music starting to suck in 2006 and it still is. It's hard to find some good new rock music these days.

The 90's. New Jack Swing, Artists put 100% into rap music, R&B music was at it's peak.

The classical period (1750-1830). In fact, I prefer pre-1900 music overall.

The 2000's by far. Simply because the best music from the best bands in my opinion came in this last decade, so damn amazing (cuz you know, you don't have to listen to the radio... and you can look for music in this thing they call the internet).

00s. And after this decade is over, I'll probably say the 10s. There's still a lot of great music being made, you just have to sift through more and more crap to find it.

I'm gonna say 1985-1995. I know its not a decade as such, but its ten years!

Shoegaze

Noise Rock

Alt Punk

Lo-Fi Indie Rock.

Just the whole alternative scene of the late 80s early 90s.

90's for electronica.

There was so much creative and trans-genre stuff being made: Aphex Twin, The Prodigy Leftfield, all that good stuff.

Nowadays, electronic music is all generic-ass house artists and dubstep producers who just try to out-wobble each other, rather than thinking forwards.

Example:

90's: Aphex Twin - Xtal

2000's: Datsik - Swagga

honestly classifying music by year is one of the most meaningless things. I suppose I listen to most music from 2000's, doesn't make it my favourite though.

Hmm. I'd have to say the 60s are my favourite musical decade but thats mainly cause of The Beatles and Beach Boys being my favourite bands of all time. Doesn't really count for much since I listen to everything. I even listen to that pothead crap of today that they call rap music so you know, if only our opinions made a difference on the music industry.

Late 90's to early/mid 2000's for my style of music (hardcore dance). Freeform movement just started, the old style of happy hardcore was blending with nu style and producers really started doing different stuff. The Dutch "Gabber" Style was nice and fast. The UK scene has gone stale now, but Freeform music is still powering ahead pushing the boundaries. Here are some examples of my fav tunes:

DJ Ham - pay attention: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_s8g3t0pmI

Kevin Energy - Crescendos of Extacy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r1VIF3iL9Y

Mark Ashley & K Complex - Atomic Orbital - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiNiVqAE0y0

Brisk & Trixxy - Eyeopener - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIaSwWIp7vw

Neophyte - Army of Hardcore - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90p1jy3iTus

Probably the 90's because of the countless awesome alternative bands. However, the 80s is a very close second because of its punk scene as well as its alternative scene, however I tend to enjoy the 90s alt. and indy a bit more.
