What was your first driving lesson like? And for those who dont have their licence yet, do you want to get it?

My first driving lesson was an hour long and it was through the back streets of my town, getting use to the car and the space around me, I did well I think. In Australia you have to be 16 or older to get your Learners permit, and once you do get it you have to do 120 hours of supervised driving.

with your parents or someone else, in us, at least where i live, you need to wait 6 months after the permit, which you can get at 15

my first lesson was in a parking lot, and we did basic stuff to get used to driving

It was nothing special: I just drove around a neighborhood, practicing my turns, eventually getting on a more crowded street.

its with a parent or someone with a full licence, you have a log book to record your hours in and after you complete it you can go onto your red P's, which is basically like a full licence just not with as many benefits, then after 12 months on the red P's you go on to your green P's, which is basically the same thing just with more privelges, then after three years of green P's you go on the full licence.

my first driving lesson was on a intercity road, man I was so worried, holding the wheel very tight, 100% concentrated on one point on the horizon, dont remember the rest. I drive much more relaxed now, experience does count, maybe my technique is not much better, but at least I am more confident and understand the road.

My first driving lesson was in a school setting. I didn't know what that *clank-clank scraaaaaaatch* noise was. Turns out I drove for the first five minutes with the emergency brake on. -_- My instructor was an ass, so that didn't help matters.

I had to do an hour of driving and then an hour of observing. I did okay with my driving, it was at night and we drove around town. Then when I was supposed to observe, I didn't really "observe the driving, but actually just observing everything outside.

man, good times in Driver's Ed, though I'm glad to have my Driver's license now...

My instructor took me down to some country roads, pulled up and told me to get in the drivers seat, I was like.... :| but I picked it up quick enough and had a nice hour long drive around.

The first time I ever drove (without even a permit) I got into an accident. I tried driving again several months later and it went terribly. I still get the shakes and can't get over it. I'm not your typical driver, though. :P I'm sure you'll be fine. Just relax, pay attention, be cautious, and be confident. Driving is easy - you just have to become comfortable with it and with having other drivers on the road.

My first lesson involved being told how to get into the car properly, how to put on a seatbelt without it pinging back in your face. Doing safety checks, being told which pedal did what, what a clutch is and then finally moving about 10ft forwards.

This may make me sound like a complete idiot but I assure you I'm not. My instructor was obsessed with little details.

First time I drove went something like my dad telling me to keep up with him in another car. If you mean a driver's test, then I haven't had to take one. I took driver's ed, which, where I'm from, gets you out of it.

I get my driver's license at 18, I turn 18 in november. I have to take a set number of lessons with an instuctor (he evaluates how many lessons depending on the student), then after that we get a certificate that we completed the "tutorial", we go take the written exam first then the practical driving exam and IF you pass (a big if), you get your license.
