When I met my mother in law I told her I hunt. When she asked "Hunt what?" I said "MILFs, because they are always in season" I was expecting laughter or anger, but she REALLY smiled then kissed me and said "you're sweet." She was trying not to smile so I said "I'm serious." She then exhibited a modest blush and became really bashful then left the room. She was embarassed because she was behaving like school girl towards her much younger son in law in front of the entire family. Age isn't a problem with me, but you know how fogies can be.
I wasn't joking, I was being nice. She is an attracive woman. But it caused a scene. She was and still is flattered, but that's just something you don't do when uptight old people are around.. and her husband. But her husband didn't care.:D Especially when I told him "Good pick, she's still ripe." After all a man's woman is his pride.
Most of the people in my family don't know how to be genuinely nice to someone. It would have been very rude to say "pff I wasn't hitting on her I was just being nice." I'm sure that would of made her feel exceptional or attractive and not have damaged her self-esteem. How else could that be interpreted other than "I felt sorry for her?"
Just because the rest of them are **** doesn't mean I should have been **** of them behave like nobody has any feelings. They are so dysfunctional and inconsiderate that it's unbelievable. I say some rude, obscene and vulgar things that are merely off the wall or slapstick humor. It may be crude, but playing kind & respectful or acting kind & respectful doesn't make a person nor people kind & respectful.
So if my family is involved something will backfire or explode in someone's face,
