My Dad (a conservative) would always listen to him when we were on long family trips, as such I grew to like him and was conservative as well, however over a year ago he said something that just screamed ignorance and a total misunderstanding of the scientific method. I can't give you direct quote but it I believe it had something to do with scientists finding evidence suggesting that oxygen may have been around longer than originally predicted. He then tried to parallel this with environmental scientists saying that they may be wrong about global warming. He stated it with such arrogance and with an air as if he had all the right answers.

From that point on everything about him just infuriated me. I started noticing how big the holes were in his logic. I started seeing how every single one of his arguments are just held together with pieces of string, bubble gum and a literal prayer from God. He, along with other things, caused me to abandon my zealous conservative ways and sowed my seeds of resentment towards the right side. In a way I've got to thank him.

He's opinionated and unaccepting of views not his own. He's a rude hypocrite who twists facts to suit his agenda.

I haven't heard much from him, first time I heard his name was in relation to the Michael J Fox controversy so I can't claim that I'm very objective when I say that he's tasteless, ignorant, unreasonable and arrogant.

Congratulations on seeing the light, TC!

I think Rush Limbaugh actually introduced me to logical fallacies, thus greatly helping me along on my path to becoming a Skeptic. He did so by uttering The Single Stupidest Argument I've Ever Heard in My Life. It went something like this...

Caller: "Everytime you cut down a tree in the rainforest, you're killing a possible cure for Cancer".

Rush: "Yeah? Well let me ask you a question. Do you support abortion?"

Caller: "Um, yes?"

Rush: "Well every time you abort a fetus you could be killing the next great scientist who would have found a cure for Cancer."

This is one of those instances where a neocon says something so unfathomably moronic that you're basically struck dumb, giving them the impression that they've won the debate when really you just don't know to start.

Oh, and in case any dittoheads are reading this, here are the problems with what he said...

Red Herring: He completely and deliberately led the argument astray, not even addressing the actual issue.

Non Sequitir: Abortion has nothing to do with deforestation, and every time you abort a fetus you could also be killing the next mass murderer, or for that matter, abortionist.

Ad Hominem: He attacked the person making the argument instead of the argument itself, rendering his counterargument completely irrelevant.

To Quoque: He basically said, "It's okay to cut down trees because you, a person who thinks its not okay, supports something that's kind of similar in a way." which incidentally begs the question, are they both right or both wrong?

Yup, even the mighty Ann Coulter has yet to dethrone that one.

Most make some attempt at subtlety, and many even attempt objectiveity.(Not to say that very many people actually achieve that but at least they try)

I would guess that those who claim Rush is ignorant or a racist or whatever don't listen to him but get their opinion from other people.

Why is he not in jail yet? He asked Ohio voters to commit voter fraud by telling republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton. This is illegal in Ohio, and he belongs in Jail.

He cant SAY to commit voter fraud?

That sounds like Ohio is stepping all over his constitutional rights. Is he from Ohioh by the way?

I dont agree with any of his opinions, but he could be worse. Has anyone listened to Chris Cohr? He comes on later after Rush. Man, now THAT guy is a deusch bag. He is worst that Hannity, O'Reily, and Limbaugh combined.

This guy said it best. His ego is too big for him to get really bad.

I particularly don't like the man. Even when I was a conservative, I didn't like the way he addressed issues and I couldn't blame liberals who disagreed with him. He was also too pompous. Now that I'm liberal, I find him illogical but it still doesn't bother me as much as his arrogance.

Thank you. Its good to see there are rational people out there. Anyone who listens to Rush knows the
negative comments written here are way off the mark. Of course any Dems or Liberals will not like him no matter what.

Are you kidding? He basically admitted he lied for years to prop up the Bush administration.

Throughout the campaign season, Rush Limbaugh has steadfastly defended Republicans and worked to win votes for them. He has repeatedly supported their crazy-ass bills and said they should be re-elected, and he has mercilessly attacked those who disagreed. But now that the losses are in, Limbaugh says he feels "liberated." Why? Because now he no longer has to "carry the water for people who I think don't deserve having their water carried." Yes, that's right. He admits he advised his listeners to vote for people who he really did not think deserved to win. He also lied about the issues he told his listeners to support:

"There have been a bunch of things going on in Congress. Some of this legislation coming out of there that I have just cringed at. And it has been difficult coming in here trying to make the case for it when the people who supposedly in favor of it can't even make the case themselves."
