I believe in the gods but do not actually know if they exist. Yes thats right I said Gods its not fair to believe in one God while they rest of them get left out.SunofVichI like the cut of your jib.
Whew! Good thing you started a religion thread. I thought I would have to do the honors tonight.Technically, this poll has nothing to do with religion.

In my brain god doesn't exist at all, BUT I totally understand why people do believe, and I like that people have a variety in beliefs.Sooshy
I dont have a philosophical stance on higher power. I have a theosophical stance and a theological stance. Besides philosophy has nothing to do with a supernal form.DevosionPoint taken, but the concept of agnosticism -- whether or not it is possible to know for certain if god exists -- is certainly related to philosophical epistemology.

Please, do tell.
My philosophical stance on this situation is me wondering why would a God create something to have it worship the creator? Why create something with free will then set boundries (If one or more do exist.....I really think they'd have much more to do than regulate humanity...unless their sole purpose is to regulate us. That makes me assume that something(s)Â created them/it. i.e. Hierarchy.)?
Many questions arise from this question. I guess my main question about higher powers, or deity(ies), is ''how are some people able to detect or even understand them and tell the rest of us?''
Science does a good job at explaining most things, but Astronomy in particular science betweens to break down at a certain point and some things can't be explained...FlameMeWait, what are you trying to say?

Astronomy is almost purely observational science. There is a little bit of theoretical work concerning how certain things in space work (but that's usually dealt with by astrophysicists and cosmologists), but pretty much everything else that pertains to Astronomy can't really be disputed because its not much more than a collection of observations.
