I don't think I'll get it........but I will avoid public as much as possible:P Especially the hospital.

I think its been completely blown out of proportion. All news media outlets has hyped this up to death. It's one overblown mess in my opinion. However it has raised awareness for washing your hands and using sanitizer, although that should be common sense.
I bought a new bike today from a bike shop in West Houston. The salesman was pretty sick -- seemed to have the full on flu.
As I was buying the accessories for them to install, the guy's boss came out and said some things to him. I didn't hear it all, but I heard snippets: "It's the swine flu?" "Is that confirmed?" "Go home!" "Why are you putting us at risk?"
Next thing I know he's gone and a new salesman is helping me.
So after that, I suddenly became a bit worried. Up to now, I've been treating this as overhyped, but that sort of put me on edge a bit.
Of course, I still don't hear a huge death toll from the infection vs. the number of people infected, so I am not sure how much of it is hype.
I had it. I only felt really bad for like 4 days, but those 4 days were god-awful. I could not bring myself to move. I was that tired. And I had the craziest dreams I've ever had in my entire life.
I also subsequently gave it to my roommate, which I think is pretty hilarious.
The reason it's so overblown is because last time it went around it killed lots of people because there wasn't as much medical science then.
More people die each year from the normal flu anyway.
I had it.
I recovered, no medical assistance needed (besides some Tylenol for the reduction of fever when I needed to sleep).
It was not all it was cracked up to be. :P

Damn... I mean, good. :D
Well, because of the fact that 2 out of the 10 people on my floor and 15 out of around 200 people in my dorm have gotten it in the past, I am kind of scared, but, at least where I am, the number of cases are going down.
Media used this to stir up hysteria to avoid having to talk about the important issues plaguing the US.
You think the public would have realised that routinely there is another virus that will supposidly "wipe out man kind". Sars, Aids, Bird Flu, and now this...
It's more of a concern that it might mutate into something more vicious than anything else, and so far it has remained pretty stable. As it stands it isn't substantially more lethal than the standard flu strains we all deal with year in and year out.
That being said, my wife is a nurse and will be "highly encouraged" to take the vaccine as soon as it is available, so it's something I think of from time to time, but doesn't exactly keep me from sleeping.
Completely overblownBruin4ev3r1520This. I honestly don't see it as a big deal, and think many people are seriously overacting.
I was looking at some statistics the other day ( cant remember where ) that said somewhere in the ballpark of 50x as many people had died of the regular flu since the whole "swine-flu omg we are all going to die" BS started.
Blame the media and their addiction to preaching dread and instilling fear in anyone unfortunate enough to turn the tv on.
Well Ive had kidney faild and a transplant and on tabs what reduces your emune system and im more at risk of catching viruses but still i think this swine flue is a load off bull. When the vacine comes which is already aproved in the UK but they dont no when there giving imnot going to have it as i think the injection will have more side effects with the tabs and it be theflue vacine what will fail the transplant more then likely. Pluss i dont even think the swine flue is even real.
