Okay so this guy was having a giveaway on youtube, and he was giving out 2K11 for free, if you subscribed and commented on his video, my little brother (who is 13) won this give away. Then my brother gave our address hoping for a 60 $ game :shock:

yes.

There is potential harm, but I hear of people doing this on Youtube all the time; and it's all been good so far. As long as he didn't post it publicly and just PMed it, there's a greater chance of it being OK.

The giveaway will require an address certainly but I do think it's a good idea to teach the kid he has to consult an adult before giving out personal information like that.headRooom

If he's a Youtube partner or well known then you probably have nothing to worry about.

i know alot of youtubers give gear out if that favorite a vid and get randomly choosen. so it might be legit

This situation is fine, but the thing is does your brother know the difference between this situation, and a dangerous one? Assuming your brother was randomly selected.

Would your brother of sent his address, and name to some guy asking for it in a chatroom.
