Forgot about Girls, their debut was quite good. The lead singers background is pretty crazy too, something about his mother being in a cult. I think The XX's debut album is one of the best in years. I can't explain why but I find it oddly hypnotic. It has elements of shoegaze, dream pop, and tons other awesomeness.
[QUOTE="JonnyEagle"]:o where do you get all the money? lol your so nieve. You mean naive? Hey you never know, not everybody gets their music illegally.....[QUOTE="Film-Guy"]

Oh you:P though to be fair I try to avoid doing that with the really lesser known bands because they need the money. Plus my brother is in a band that is releasing their debut album this year so I want to support him:D

Did you think Dark Days/Light years was better than their last one Hey Venus? For some reason if didn't like Hey Venus as much as their others like Love Kraft, and Rings around the world. The Mountain goats have some of the best lyrics of any band, such a great band.
Oh look, a bunch of indie and metal ****, who would've guessed.

Lady Gaga isn't exactly top **** either so I recommend you shut up.
Black Gives Way To Blue - Alice In Chains
Black Clouds And Silver Linings - Dream Theater
Here Waits Thy Doom - 3 Inches Of Blood

Surprisingly, yes I did. Hey Venus was a good album, but after repeated listens something just didn't sit right with me as SFA albums usually do. Still can't put my finger on it. :? Dark Days/Light Years goes up there with Radiator for me.
This reminds me that I've got to check out Gruff's solo albums.

I think Gruff only did one solo album Candylion. If you like the super furry animals you should check out Gorky's zygotic mynci. I think Hey Venus was a bit too poppy and some songs were a bit monotonous.
Ya! Who woulda thunk it?!? This forum is full of people who LOVE metal, but our top albums shouldn't be metal, this is surprising even me! :oOh look, a bunch of indie and metal ****, who would've guessed.
HorseVillain
My favorite releases were Nickelback, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears.......Bear in mind I'm lying, I don't even know if they came out with CD's this year.
No particular order.
Those Whom the God's Detest - Nile, Crack the Skye - Mastadon, Ensiferum - From Afar, Insomnium - Across the Dark, Endgame - Megadeth, World Painted Blood - Slayer, Wrath - Lamb of God, The Black Dahliar Murder - Deflorate, Evisceration Plague - Cannibal Corpse, Pray for Villian's, Devildriver, Evangelion - Behemoth
I'm soooooo sorry for adding more metal to this, I hope you can forgive me.
Honestly, if you spend even 10 minutes on this forum, just looking at signatures and posts, you should probably be able to tell metal is the dominant genre here...why you would complain is beyond me, if you know it's coming, avoid it if it's going to annoy you. :|
If award for best album in my opinion, I would give it to either Lamb of God or Devildriver, those two seemed to be the only ones attempting to/exceeding their older albums, Lamb of God did an excellent job if you ask me, within one week of me buying Wrath, it had over 50 full playthroughs. I loved Contractor, In Your Words and Grace.

Bluestorm-Kalas
I agree. Sacrament was too angry sounding; Wrath has much more variety.

Yr Atal Genhedlaeth was his first, Candylion his second. Other point is duely noted.
