Give it back. I've done it before... and it may not have even been theirs. But if they're willing to lie about it, they can have it. Wasn't mine anyway.SolidSnake35One time I have back a wallet stuffed with $100 bills and even gave back all the $100s that were around the wallet (I'm dead serious), and the guy had the audacity to try and say I took some of it.
You've stollen money? I'm more curious about the returning more part. Here's your 10 and here's 5 more of my own money.[QUOTE="toast_burner"]
Depends on my mood. I've stolen more before, but I've also returned more before.

You've stollen money?A guy droped £20 and I took it. I was at a bar and stole around £60 worth of drinks as well. I don't feel proud about it but I was drunk and pissed off.[QUOTE="toast_burner"]

As for the returning part I meant that someone drop two £20 notes and I gave them back, taking £40 is much more tempting than taking £10.

Otherwise anyone that's ever picked up money off a sidewalk would be a thief.[QUOTE="Pirate700"]

it has happen to me that i have seen people have dropped money. and i have always gave it back.
last time it happen to me was at work. i was walking down a hallway and someone dropped a $5. I don't even knowthe lady because where i work they have over 600 employees... kinda hard keep track of everyone.
Last time i have lost money was when i was 11 years old (21 now) lost a $5 in a parking lot. not kidding. i don't play when it comes to money
I would return it. But if I found a wallet sitting there I'd most likely take the money and leave the wallet.
My rule of thumb is if you actually SEE someone drop it, pick it up and give it back to them. If it's just laying around with no possible owner in sight, finder's keepers.
It has to be in that sweet spot. $10 is too low and $100 is too high. If it was a 20, I'f definitely scoop it up.I'm pleasantly surprised by the poll results though I find it hard to believe it's actually that high towards giving it back. :P

I think it is stealing simply for the reason that the person who takes the money knows who it belongs to but still takes it.
Give it back. They're right there in front of you, so all you have to do is say, "Hey, you dropped this".
As opposed to if you find cash and have no idea who it belongs to.
I'd give it back since they're nearby. Otherwise, I'd walk slowly and pick up the money when the person is out of sight.
