Entering the arena,you've got several choices of weapon,what would you take?

I'd take the trident and net since it'd be my natural inclination to shuffle the hell away from my opponent while attempting to block in any case.

I doubt I'd have the upper-body strength to use the trident effectively but it'd hardly matter since I'd be dead my first match for sure.

Two handed bastard sword. But really if it was you're first time in the arena then you probably wouldn't have a weapon or clothes for that matter. See the Romans would put their new "gladiators" in to the ring weaponless and totally naked, and they'd have to survive long enough in the ring against armed opponents to get more privileges as gladiators.

Why are there so many debbie downers here. I'd just run until they get tired. I would have nothing and they would have some armor/weapons. Then when they get too exhausted I hit their weak point for massive damage!

A very large shield that I could place around myself in a protective cacoon, living out the rest of my days in my small one bedroom apartment.
