Flame wars anybody? Seems like they'd rather take their frustration out on the machines depicted or certain entities from history than have meaningful discussions.

Youtube has one of the worst communities on the internet

i would have expected this from you
"Youtube you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany. We must be cautious"
i like the youtube community. you can say what you really feel and there are no thought police to mod you.

"The Trolls are easily startled but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers."
It's funny how some of you say Youtube has one of the worst communities on the internet considering EVERYONE uses youtube.GAMESHARQYea but not everyone comments on videos.

i think it was pre-school when i first learnt the saying "If you havn't got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all". More people shoud follow that saying.
Yeah. It is possible for ANY kind of video to contain flame wars in them. though sometimes it can be hilarious.
This comic expresses what would be the perfect attack against them. :P
But as far as it goes, Youtube is pretty much the collective of the Trolls found on all the other websites. It's mostly little kids thriving off the anonymity of it, and just getting satisfaction off making people ticked off. Well, I guess that's pretty much the definition of trolling, but you know..
The Youtube community makes System Wars seem like the most professional place ever. I've thought of joining Youtube to be able to smite the stupid, but I fear that would turn me into them. I've seen the most idiotic, horrible, disgusting comments ever on Youtube. Go to any video about racism, and you'll see the ugliest racist comments you'll ever see. I thought racism was dying out, but in Youtube, it apparently lives a happy life.
There are a few good eggs there, but really, the community is the worst thing I've seen so far on the internet.
Youtube doesnt have a community, the website is global, used by millions. And if Gamespot didnt have mods, it would be exactly the same here.
yeah it's funny. Every7 remotely science based thread always turns into a "Is evolution an atheistic lie?" type thread.I remember a HUGE religious debate there, and do you know what started it? The video had "God" in the title, and the video itself had nothing to do with God at all.

That absolutely proves that there are idiots everywhere on the internet. ;)
I've seen some Youtube Videos that havesome people for no apparent reason just flame someone for a video. They're probably worser than IMDB. I don't comment or post on neitherone of the websites. Never will. Never have. I just be nosy.
The comments on YouTube are one of the many reasons I dislike the site. I enjoy making videos, and uploading them, but I dislike the fact everyone just flames everyone on the comments section. For example, look at a song by a rapper. I guarantee you that someone will say something along the lines of ' is terrible and should die in agony'. Someone else will respond, and so on and so forth.
Then there's the spam comments, such as 'i just made a ringtone of this song at '. YouTube has probably the worst community I've ever seen.
No, you're wrong.. the mentality that develops on internet communities like YouTube come from that fact that people there don't have to fear social repercussions from their peers. If majority of the people on youtube comments section talked like they do on the comments section to people in person.. they'd have no friends or be getting punched in the face a lot.. and would essentially suffer the consequences that are missing from the youtube comments section. It has very little to do with moderators or authority figures. But more to do with how people work in social environments.i like the youtube community. you can say what you really feel and there are no thought police to mod you.

There is no doubt that I have read some of the most appalling comments there, it is crazy, but I do find a lot of golden comedy moments amidst the crazyness. And as someone else said some parts of the community are very nice.
I watch a lot of videos there regarding playing the fiddle and fiddling techniques, and many of the posters are witty and courteous. I think the content of the videos has a lot to do with the contents of the comments there - but not always.
yeah it's funny. Every7 remotely science based thread always turns into a "Is evolution an atheistic lie?" type thread. Every comments in a science related video I seen, keeps getting hijacked by a religious debate ALL THE TIME!!!! *rages*[QUOTE="QWERTYCommander"]
