ive just put up a vid with freebird by lynyrd skynyrd on youtube, and guess what, it gets copyrighted 2 minutes later, and my friends videos are also getting removed, wether fully or on audio.. this is getting annoying

I only get that a few times, hate it aswell though
it is, i don't get some of the stuff that stays and others get deleted. a lot there are songs with lyrics but if a person just uploads a music video it gets deleted.

Well, they did say don't put copywrighted material on there, such as music vids, commercials, TV episodes, etc. The only times they will allow those is if the original owners of the properties have a youtube account, like I've seen HBO's user account and they can get away with showing FOTC's first season 2 episode. The only thing I upload on youtube is gameplay videos of video games I play.
i'd just like to say that i totally agree with the pessimist thing in your sig. but yeah, the copyright thing on youtube is starting to REALLY piss me off to. i thought it was just me, but maybe not. they're taking down celebrity jeopardys and all kinds of music videos and the like. it's worth has considerably dropped

i read about it in radioblogclub.com a few years back, its something to do with a local law which apparently all the scandinavian countries came to an agreement with. This collides with some european regulatives, thus rendering anything that is questionable content for the scandinavian market in a permanent limbo. I always spent hours in making my videos.Music with clips of music or games.I put them on Youtube and after a while,they shut them down.I closed my account and deleted my videos after my 5th deletion. I also stopped with the whole video-editing.
If I was a musician, YT would be my worst enemy. DarkKar
Not if you actually play live shows like a true musician.
This is silly. I always discover bands by having a look at some songs from youtube. Hell they even take off official videos. Red Hot Chili Peppers got screwed big time by this copyright BS.
On a side note I really hope they don't target videogame music. I don't have any idea where people find these obscure soundtracks and I'm not paying more than 20 bucks on one.
