How did the candidates respond to that???

Barack said that his way of giving them reparations would be giving them better education. He went on to say these areas of the country that are mostly black have terrible schools and he wants to fix that.
reparations? like they are the only culture/race that thinks they've been oppressed - or been made slaves or whatever. Maybe they should call africa and find the tribes that sold them into slavery to begin with.tazzydnc
But then they wouldn't be able to call them racist
Well, Barack did a good job of answering that silly question, at the very least.
And Blacks are definetely not the only minority that's been abused. In fact, they aren't even NEARLY the worst. They're simply the one that A: gets the most exposure, and B: recovered the least from it. And that's very sad, considering what Jews have gone through.

Yea I just talked to my friend about what that guy asked and he said did the jews ever ask for reparations? No, they went out and did for themselves.
I'm watching the youtube debate on CNN and I just heard a disturbing question. Some black guy asked if black people will ever get their reparations. Are you kidding me? I'm not racist at all, but get over it. What more could they want? They have a lock on music, they have a lock on sports, and I'm about tired of hearing them making babies to get more welfare money. Blacks have the same rights as anyone else in this country. They have for years. There will always be racism, but legally they have just as many options if not more than whites or anyone else. They don't deserve reparations, no one does, get over it.newimagejkep
Actually black people dont have a lock on music or sports. Have you ever heard of rock n roll? or country? or classical music?
Dirk Nowitski was the mvp of the nba and steve nash was the mvp before him. John elway and brett favre are some of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. etc, etc

You obviously didn't quite grasp what he meant
he meant that if anyone in those industries says something racist (unless they're black) then their carreer is over.
I have witnessed a change, before the war on terror everybody put up with when black people would ask questions like that, and after people are getting fed up with it, one because it was like 190 years ago or something and they do have colledge funds and black history month and stuff like that, and it seems that brown people have a harder time right now than anybody, and if anything we shouldbe stopping discrimination against them.
Thats just how I see things changing, no offense to anybody.
