The guys who do Naruto: the abridged series got their idea from LittleKuriboh (the creator of Yu-gi-oh abridged). LittleKuriboh even guest stars in the first Naruto: abridged episode, as well as the most recent one.
For those of you who haven't seen it, here's another chance to see the hilarity. Also, check out the other 15 episodes he's made so far. Starting from the begining will let you understand some of the jokes in the episode I posted.
