There are tons of actors rumored to be in the role of spiderman 4. There's really no telling who will actually be the star though. Although Zac Efron is a charismatic and good looking young guy, he's a rather poor actor, and if he got the role I'm sure the movie would suck.

Spiderman 4 was cancelled. They're going to reboot the entire series. Why would they do this? I don't know.

I was... really worried for a minute. Thank God it isn't going to happen... The only way the series could possibly go downhill after Spiderman 3 is making Zach Efron Peter Parker.

Think of it this way...Sam Raimi was still willing to do Spider-Man 4, even though number 3 was total ass.

Also, it's likely that a large part of SM 3's problems (not ALL Raimi still did the movie) were at least partially due to studio interference.

So...Sam Raimi is talking with Sony people, and they want to speed up production on SM4 in order to make their projected release date. Raimi says no. Because the script sucks and he needs more time.

Apparently, that's a dealbreaker. SM4 needs to be out by the projected date, even though the script sucks and doing so will cause the director and cast to walk.

So...goodbye director and cast. What now? GRITTY REBOOT! Let's hire people quick! Whoever we need who's willing to churn out **** fast in order to meet our timetable!

And that's why Spider-Man 4 (or Spider-Man Reboot) is going to suck. It's not that they WANT SM4 to be worse than SM3. They just don't care. Because Spider-Man 3 made an ASSLOAD of money (even though it was ****), and they figure that that means people will watch any **** as long as it has Spider-Man.

Remember Batman 4 (aka Batman and Robin)? Well, I'm predicting Spider-Man 4 to be justa little bit better.
