Don't think a Zombie Apocalypse will ever happen.

At best it would be a small outbreak that gets carpet bombed into oblivion before lunch on the first day. Unless you are living within 10 miles of the epicenter you would never even know it happened without turning on the TV.

That would involve getting too close to them, chances are you will get bitten and infected.

Viruses do not work that way!

The only way it might work is if some organisation released the virus by water or something into hundreds of population centers around the world and it had a 24-36 hour incubation period.

What about mutated rabies? Rabies is essentially rage, sufferers "may show increased irritability, viciousness, excitability, and eating unusual objects", also it affects the CNS so it could change your behaviour.
