I'm thinking about buying a new tv, i was thinking about buying a 1080p tv

they are alot more money and was just wondering if it is worth splashing out extra money for the 1080p

anyones opinions would be appreciated

They're worth it if you're buying a large HDTV. The benefits of 1080p over 720p isn't obvious to the human eye in small sizes at normal viewing distances. So go for something at least 40" if you want 1080p.

Or if you plan to use your HDTV as a monitor also, then 1080p would be useful.

If you are getting big screen and like hd movies then spend the little extra and get the 1080p model.....if you are getting one just for gaming then a 720p model will do fine
