Been posting this on all the PC hardware forums I know of, might as well put it here too:

If you guys have any suggestions on better deals, please tell. I don't know of too many PC part stores.
Also, I have two concerns. The biggest concern is the heatsink. I'm still unsure of what things I need for a mild overclock. Will I get 34 bucks worth of speed out of my CPU by buying that 34 dollar heatsink?
Second concern- the GPU. Is it kind of weak if I want to play Crysis and UT3 in the future? I wanted an 8800GTS but I'm poor, and I would rather upgrade GPU later than most other things.

editing in a third major concern... Will spending 75 more bucks or so for a Q6600 make my computer last for that much longer (75 bucks worth)? I realize that in the future more games and apps will utilize quad core, and I want this to last as long as possible.

oh yeah, and Vista for system builders. anything wrong with that?

if you are gonna overclock, get the e6600. its the better bang for the buck. the mobo is fine. but if you wanna OC like crazy, get some gigabyte HZ ram. the tuniq tower is a better cooler but is a little more expensive. sceptre isn't a good brand. they areknown for dead pixels.if you can get either ssamsung or viewsonic. im not sure about the psu though.

How about dropping down to an E6550, then overclocking?

Im sure that heatsink will allow you to push it fairly far, with reasonable temps!

Although that system isnt massivley power hungry, you shuld try to get a fairly good PSU, its important to keep your system running on stable power!

It would be better to get an 8800 but that 8600 should be fine for now, just save up and upgrade in the future I suppose...

Yeah, on other places I posted this at I'm getting same kind of replies about the PSU. I'm looking at some better ones atm.

So would E6550 with the same heatsink be a great combo?

I cant guarantee it but with a bit of luck and some overclocking knowledge then you could definitely save yourself some money there.., I'll have a look around see if I can find any info!

OK.. now I can lol

I had a look at some stuff and some people actually suggested an E6420 over the E6550, but I reckon either way, with that cooler, you can get some pretty decent overclocks, definitely as high as an E6750.

Cheaper the better, long as it works. Just to make sure, dual core CPU's won't become obselete anytime soon, right? I know game developers usually won't make a game that most people wouldn't be able to play, and I don't see everyone having a quad core soon.
