now please dont get me wrong, i dont want to build a PC from the roots, maybe buy a complete tower, and upgrade a video card, sound card, and thats about it.

but i was thinking of getting this right here

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=192789

and adding a vid/sound card

all the perephials will be taken care of,but if anyone knows a gaming mouse or keyboard around 50$ or less, please, shootaway

im going to buy a 26 inch samsung tv to double as a monitor/tv, so that is taken care of

please tell me what video and sound cards i can get for about 200$ combined

i dont want immaculate graphics and sound,i just want to be able to buy a game confidently, knowing it will work on my PC and run smoothly.

thanks in advance

i would say stick with onboard audio, it is 7.1, and then put the 200 for a vid card, is DX10 important to you? if not grab an 1950 pro if you can find one, if it is i would jump on a 8600gts

cheers.

dont get that. 8500 IS NOT FOR GAMING. probably stated 100 times on this forum. that computer is even worse than the hp. get the hp and expand your budget on video card to 8800gts or gt, then get a 22" monitor instead of 26" tv because the tv has lower resolution

I have this card in the 640MB version. Works perfectly for those on a budget. :) Swap the 8500 for this and you should be ready to go, but you should get a new power supply. 550W I'm thinking. (450W in your current build?)

You can also ditch the 4GB of RAM for 2GB, as it should be just fine for gaming. Unless you are using a 64bit OS, you won't get all 4GB out of it anyways.

The Sempron proc might also be too little. A dual core with help alot with gaming both now and in the future.

Am I thinking too powerful for you maybe? I'm not sure.:?

RAM requirements go up every two years, i want this computer to last me until college. I was thinking of getting an HP from circuitcity that had a2.8ghz quad core, 3 gb ram,a640gbHD, and a video card, it wasnt an 8600, but it would work until i got more money tobuythe8600GTS.
