Ok, I built my PC on saturday and on speedfan it says temperature 3 is 127 degrees celcius. It stays at this temp all of the time. Is this a fault and what is this the temperature of? I have also been experiencing lag on age of empires 3, which I shouldn't. Is this overheating? Thanks

Ok, the temperature is going up and down so it may not be faulty. I need help, everything looks fine and I haven't experienced shutdowns. Everything is tidy in my case other than at the bottom there is a clump of wires coming from the PSU and I don't know where to hide them. :P

Hi Josh. Try installing the Asus PC Probe utility from your motherboard CD.

PC Probe will show you your voltages and temperatures. See what it tells

you.

Ok, I installed it, but it only shows 2 temperatures, so I don't know if speedfan's sensors are right or not :S. Any other programs I could use?

Hi Ya PC Probe shows the CPU and motherboard temps. It also shows RPMs

for your CPU fan and chassis fan. Well it seems to me I recall someone

else posting about a faulty temp reading. I don't remember if it was the

Speed Fan utility. Is it supposed to tell you what each core temp is?

I guess since you have a quad it would be 4 readings. Well I don't

know of other temp monitoring program. Hopefully other posters

know of some.

So is that high for a 4890? I thought these cards are meant to be hot? :S

I have my PSU under my GPU and all of the wires are just crammed under it as I don't know where to hide all of the cables. I guess this could be causing it? :S

Your GPU idles at 27-28C? You must have some wicked cooling for that.... Unless you meant it was your CPU that idles that low....? I know that my current AMD 64 X2 5600+ idles around 32C and at 53C stressed. My GPUs (8800GTS 512 in SLI) they idle around high 40s/low 50s and run into the high 70s/low 80s when gaming.

If you replaced the cooler with an aftermarket one, you may get close to the temps.

I had already thought of that but since my card has a double lifetime warranty doing that would completely void my warranty and I dont whant that to hapen...im thinkin of getting another case something like an antec 1200 or something like that

Hey, yeah I have a Gigabyte 4890 it should idle at about 52 C to 73-75 under load with all automatic settings and no OC. Yet even if you have OC'ed it, it should not reach temps higher then that.
