I had to reformat my computer and since it's been done my monitor is having issues going back to it's old resolution of 1280x1024. I'm using a Viewsonic VA902b monitor, and my vid card is a ATI RADEON X200 with a P4 processor. The issue I'm having is that my computer doesn't even want to install drivers from viewsonic, and when I try to change to 1280x1024 it says Out of Range.

Any help is much appreciated.

Im using an ATI-4330 for my HomeTheatrePC, and it has issues with resolutions too. Im using Vista though-and using the drivers that Vista assigned, so Im not using CCC for anything - I didnt even install CCC, just because of the Resolution problems.

Not sure what to tell you at all - Why your monitor isnt showing up on your Device Manager ? ? It will usually atleast say "Generic Monitor"

But your graphics card...SO you said you installed the appropriate Drivers?? As in , did you download them directly from the ATI website? And make sure-again, that you install the correct drivers for the correct Operating System...

Finally, are you using CCC - to figure out your resolutions? Or are you right-clicking on your desktop and using Desktop settings???

If either CCC doesnt give you the correct resolutions, then use the desktop settings...

Thats about all I can come up with.

Give it a few days. Sometimes updated monitor drivers come through Windows Update. That's the way it was with the HP monitor I'm on.
