1360x768??? 720P or 1080i???

is 1360x768 converted to "HDTV talk" 720p or 1080i ? same question for 1920X1080 ,im having a little problem converting my vga resolutions to the hdtv resolutions. (just wanna know what resolution i want when i wanna play the old xbox games that support 720p and nothing higher)

1360X768 is neither 720p or 1080i. 1920X1080 conforms to either 1080i or p.You need to give us more info. What TV do you have.

You basically have a 720p tv. 720p equals 1280*720. It's just they like to use 1366*768 panels (768p) because is easier to manufacture most the time. So basically your screen is closer to the resolution of 720p than it is to 1080o (which is 1920*1080 once deinterlaced since progressive display can't run interlaced). Also, a 1080i signal is limited to 30fps, and once it's been deinterlaced and scaled down to that 768p resolution you hardly get any benefit in detail over choosing 720p to begin with and 720p can do full 60fps.
