i have 19" crt samsung and when i try to run any game at 1600x1200 resolution with 85 hz game is not running.1280х1024 is working.
i use Refreslock to lock refresh rate to game.

Does that monitor support 1600x1200?
If it does, it likely may only support 1200 @ 60hz, where as you can do 1024 @ 85hz.
yes it supports even 1920х1080 with 85 hz on desktop, but strange -any game with resolution higher than 2048 on 1024 on 85 just crahes from start.
As @Innovazero2000 told you, it's probably running on 1200 with 60Hz refresh rate, the higher the resolution the lower refresh rate it could run on.
@woropaew: What model number is your CRT Samsung? I've never seen too many 19" CRT monitors do 1600x1200 @ 85Hz. The latter was usually the domain of 21" CRT monitors.
The vast majority of 19" CRT monitors will do 85Hz at 1280x1024. I've seen some of the expensive ones do 1600x1200 @ 70-75Hz. I've yet to see one do 1600x1200 @ 85 Hz.
There were some CRT monitors that did 120Hz. Perhaps with those 1600x1200 @ 85Hz is possible. I never owned one of those though.
its Samsung Syncmaster 959nf. it can do 1920х1080 with 85 hz.
usual is 1280 on 1024 on 100
but i understand something - maybe just games doesn't support 85 hz. all new games made for lcd monitor and tv - where refresh rate means nothing. So game designers don't bother about high refresh rate

Plenty of crts can do 1600x1200 at 85hz.
A lot of CRTs also overclock well, did 160hz at 800x600 on my old one when I used it. I played at 1280x960 at 120-140hz though, 1600x1200 only worked at 80hz which is a bit too eye strainy for me.
To the TC, game probably just doesn't support it.

Yeah. But a 19" CRT?
Mine was 17in and it didn't have any issues, don't remember the model though.
Okay. That would have to have released fairly late when LCD monitors were already making their appearance. I last bought a CRT monitor back in 2001. I now remember seeing a 17" CRT capable of 1280x1024@85Hz the following year. There could've also been 1600x1200-capable ones.
