Hi. I'm building a PC and I'm considering going for 16gb of RAM (I know, I know, but still :)) Does anyone have 16gb of RAM? I found one from G-Skill at newegg for $500, but apparently a new kit from OCZ will be out soon for about $380.

Just wondering if anyone has it, what brand and how much was it. Thanks for looking!

By the time 16GB of RAM is actually required for Personal Computing, that RAM will be terribly ancient.

Dont bother.... Most games hardly see a difference between 2 gigs and 4 gigs.

I suppose this is for something other than games because no 32-bit games use more than 2 GB ram.

at the most i'd get 6gb. but you would have so much ram not being used unless your building a server. and if you are not building a server then you're pretty much just throwing your money away because by the time we reach the point of using 16gb as a standard, or at all use all of that ram, ddr2 will be outdated

Fixed. :D

Hell, sometimes I dont even think I need 4GB, let alone 6 or 8GB, and in your case 16GB? It won't do you any good at all. You will just be throwing your money away. Might as well send it to me or donate it to charity. ;)
