Hi I'm getting a new gaming computer most likely with a nvidia 260 (216) OC or a nvidia 280 graphics card. My question is when I set everything up it will be on my hp w19b monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900. Will this be a problem? I don't see this resolution used that much on benchmarks, is this worse then 1280x1024? I heard if I change it to 1280x1024, it will look worse on a 1440x900. Any insight would be great. Oh and i'm primarily building the system around playing crysis at max.
The higher the numbers in a resolution, the better. My bro has a 20.6" (or 21.6", I'm not sure) monitor and it's default res is 1440x900. If the res is the one just mentioned, then that means it is a wide screen and the res 1280x1024 is not. So no, do not run the monitor on any res but 1440x900.
In pretty much every newer game (dating around perhaps 06-07 and forward), yes it is supported. In older games you may have to scale back to resolutions such as 1280x800.
This seems to be a rare resolution though from what i've seen. Is this resolution widely supported?viper78295
I'm running this resolution right now. The only issue is that some older games require you to manually set the resolution (which can be done, although some require you to go to your systems registrty and whatnot). shouldnt be a big problem. BTW that 280 might be a bit of overkill at this fairly small res.
