1gb of RAM versus 3gb of RAM

I just upgraded from 1gb of RAM to 3gb of RAM (2x512mb sticks and 2x1gb sticks). Was this the right choice or should I have just bought 2 more 512mb sticks? Also, will I notice a difference in Oblivion and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shadow of chernobyl?

3gbs if you dont see a difference there then you wont see it a 4GB, 2GB is usually more than enough.

yea it would be better but not that much unless you heavily multitasking.

The more ram, the merrier, as long as it's dual channel and supported :)

I just upgraded to 2 GB of RAM (512 MB x 4) and I see a huge performance boost in battlefield and in vista.

a few months ago 2GB was overkill. Now, for decent gamers 2 gigs is almost perfect.

Pretty soon 3GB will be standard aswell.
