So I've decided to get a GTX460, I've narrowed it down to either http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-068-GI or https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-064-GI My max resolution is 1680x1050, I'm more leaning on the 768mb one. People say it's only 1-4 fps different. Regards.
768mb is plenty for 1680x1050, but grabbing the 1gb version will allow you use high amounts of AA and also if you decide to move beyond 1680x1050 the 1gb would work better.
The difference is not just VRAM, something people forgot so even in lower res there will be a difference in performance. The 1GB version is 256-bit and 768MB is 192-bit, that makes a bigger difference than VRAM.
