Hey all, so here's the situation, I have my computer monitor and my television hooked up to my computer and the max resultion for each differs (the computer monitor being 1680X 1050 and my television being 1920x1200). Now, I've just bought a controller to play games through my PC and television, but with the option to duplicate screen settings, the max I can achieve is 1680x1050 unless I make the television screen my sole monitor. Is there a way to play games on my television with the resolution set to 1920x1200 while still allowing access to my regular monitor? I've tried to extend the display, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to play the game solely on my television while my monitor runs its own portion of the screen.

Thanks in Advance!

Make your TV the main monitor. Although, you'll have to alt-tab to have access the 2nd monitor when in a game.

You could also upgrade to windows 7 (or possibly with some alternative multi monitor software) which will allow separate resolutions.

for instance at work I put my laptop on a docking station. The laptop monitor is 1920 x 1080 while the monitor I have setup is 1680 x 1050. I run both screens at the same time and they both run at their native resolution.

I do this all the time whether is laptop or desktop. It should work, extend display set max resolution. You can also shift the screen position so that your mouse pointer wont hover over the next screen so it will stay fullscreen.

I doubt your tv is 1920x1200, probably 1920x1080.
